OUR APPROACH
-Bible: Students explore the Old and New Testaments and key Bible doctrines while being encouraged to cultivate Christian values through the study of biblical characters and the life of Christ. They also participate in weekly chapel services.

-Language Arts: Our teachers use traditional readers and literature sets to enhance phonics, spelling, and reading skills, while also teaching students the grammar and composition techniques needed for effective communication. We also incorporate skills using the IEW method, or Institute of Excellence in Writing, into our early elementary classrooms where students are taught the foundations of excellent writing that they carry with them throughout their educational years.

-Mathematics: Focuses on foundational math facts and skills to support advanced problem-solving abilities.

-History: Historical events are taught as students explore American and world history and geography through a lens of patriotism and God's sovereignty throughout.

-Science: We approach science biblically, recognizing that God's creation is our foundation for all science based evidence.

TESTING
Each year, our 3rd and 5th grade students participate in Iowa Testing in the spring. These tests are a part of our accredidation process and academic evaluation progress.

JMC-ONLINE STUDENT PROGRESS ACCESS
To best serve our students and parents, we use an online system called JMC. Students and families can access student progress reports which includes their current grades, broken down by assignment. Other helpful features include attendance reports, student schedules, lesson plans, missing score reports, and report cards. In addition, parents and students have the ability to set alert preferences when students are missing an assignment, absence or tardy alerts, or when their grades drop below a specified percentage. This valuable tool allows parents to be on the pulse of their child's progress at school.
