WHY ACS
Discover the Difference of a Christian Education

At Aberdeen Christian School, we believe education is strongest when faith and family come first. School should not compete with the home. It should walk alongside it.
In our small classrooms, students are known personally. Teachers understand their strengths, their struggles, and their stories. Faith is not reserved for chapel; it shapes daily instruction, relationships, discipline, and encouragement. Teachers pray with students, grace is practiced and character matters at ACS.
This is a place where students are known, and where families are partners.
Faith & Family First
Now with a Four-Day School Week
ACS is implementing a four-day school week model for the 2026-2027 school year. By building in margin for families, ACS affirms the vital role of parents and recognizes that one size does not fit all when it comes to education. This flexibility allows for deeper family discipleship, community involvement, and hands-on learning.

Preschool & Kindergarten
That Builds the Whole Child
In our preschool and kindergarten classrooms, we understand that learning begins with safety and trust. When a child has big feelings, we focus on calm before correction. We teach emotional skills daily and encourage fresh starts. Before addressing behavior, we help children feel secure. Assessment is not built around a single test. Teachers observe growth over time - academically, socially, and spiritually - guided by the South Dakota Early Learning Guidelines.
We remind every child:
You are loved by God.
You are capable
of growth.
Mistakes are part
of learning.

Secondary Education at ACS
The middle and high school years are a time of growth, independence, and important decisions. At ACS, students are supported every step of the way, with teachers and coaches who invest in who they are becoming, alongside opportunities in athletics, a growing music program, and expanded academic pathways like dual credit and career-focused electives, all within a Christ-centered environment.

Small Classes.
Real Relationships.
With average class sizes of about 10 students in PK–5 and 15 in 6–12, students are not lost in the crowd. Teachers know their students well. Families communicate directly and often. Support is personal. Our teachers are supported by prayerful families and a grace-filled culture which makes classrooms calmer, more consistent, and joyful.

Some want both.
Shared Learning - Select classes like music, upper-level math, and electives are available to homeschool students.
Community & Activities - Music, drama, athletics, chapel services, and spiritual life events provide meaningful connection.
Flexible Enrollment - Part-time and blended options allow families to customize their educational approach.
